Post-Procedure Information
Immediately Following Procedure:
Apply ice to treated area for 10-15 minutes at a time. Ice helps reduce swelling and aids in
healing.
For 5 - 7 days following application of permanent
cosmetics:
- Apply bacitracin ointment for two days, then coconut oil with a clean Q-tip; not your fingertips; to keep the area continuously moist for 5
-7 days. (For lips use Aquaphor).
- Do not apply any other products to the pigmented area for seven days, including non-allergenic make-up.
- After 3 days, you may notice some flaking: Do not rub or pick at the epithelial crust;
allow it to flake off on its own.
- You may use a mild cleanser, gently rinse with water
and lightly pat the area dry. Do
not expose treated area to full pressure of the water in the shower.
- Do not immerse treated area in bath, swimming pool or hot tub. Do not swim in fresh,
salt or chlorinated pool water.
- Do not expose the treated area to the sun.
- Use a total sun block AFTER the procedure area
has healed to prevent future fading of pigment color.
- For eyeliner: Do not use mascara or an eyelash curler for
seven days post procedure. When you
resume use, purchase a new tube as the old tube may have bacteria in it.
- For eyeliner:
do not wear contacts for 24 hours.
If eyelids are stuck together in the morning, hold a warm wash
cloth gently against them until they release. Finish with a COLD water compress to close the pores.
Failure
to follow post-treatment instructions may cause loss of pigment, discoloration
or infection. REMEMBER, COLORS APPEAR DARKER AND MORE SHARPLY DEFINED IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE PROCEDURE. As the healing progresses, COLOR WILL SOFTEN. A touch-up procedure may or may not be
necessary after the healing period.
